Lexia for Virginia: ALL in Tutoring with Lexia

Accelerating Literacy Learning in Virginia

ALL In tutoring, Virginia's high-intensity academic tutoring, is a research-based approach to accelerating at-risk students to grade level.

Lexia® is excited to partner in this initiative to help fulfill the state's ALL In tutoring priority. Schools across Virginia can now utilize research-proven Lexia® Core5® Reading and Lexia® PowerUp Literacy®, both based on the science of reading.

At no cost to schools, the programs support Virginia educators and tutors to accelerate literacy learning for students in grades 3-8 for those students who qualify for Tier 2 intervention. Tutors will provide small-group instruction and practice utilizing the educator materials included.

Lexia Core5 Reading Results for Virginia

Literacy Acceleration for Students in Grades Pre-K–5

In Virginia, students made substantial progress with Core5®. At the start of the 2022-2023 school year, 43% of students working on Core5 material with fidelity were in or above their grade level. That number increased to 87% by the end of the school year. Students working below grade level reduced from 57% to 13%. More than half of the population reached the grade-level benchmark in Core5.

Lexia PowerUp Literacy Results for Virginia

Literacy Acceleration for Students in Grades 6–12

Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® helped more than 68,000 Virginia students in grades 6–12 during the 2022-2023 school year make gains in their literacy knowledge. Sixty-one percent of students who used the program with fidelity saw three grade levels of growth in a single year, helping them more effectively read to learn. Only 1% of students started the year with advanced literacy skills, but 61% ended the year with advanced literacy skills across all program strands.

Ready to Roster?

Once licenses have been provisioned, the rostering contact listed will be contacted by a Lexia Customer Success Engineer to assist your division with Rostering.

You can prepare for the rostering process by downloading Clever or Classlink.

To facilitate reporting to the state, the class code VATUTOR24 needs to be included for classes with students participating in the program.
