Lexia PowerUp Literacy U.S. Infographic
More than 900,000 adolescent students across the U.S. received literacy assistance from Lexia PowerUp Literacy during the 2023–2024 school year. The research speaks for itself: The number of students working on Advanced Comprehension skills increased 5x across the school year. More than 60,000 educators were also empowered by the program, with them reporting it helped to provide more targeted instruction in 10,300 schools.
PowerUp research has received a Strong rating from Evidence for ESSA. Across several studies, effect sizes for PowerUp ranged from 0.14 to 0.74. There are six peer-reviewed efficacy studies on PowerUp.
Many students transitioned from beginner to advanced with ease.
For students who used PowerUp with fidelity during the 2023–2024 school year, 51% of students covered three or more grade levels of skills in a single school year. The number of students working on advanced (sixth to eighth grade and beyond) skills across all content shot up from 1% to 42% by the end of the school year. And by the end of the year, the percentage of students working on K–2 skills dropped below 5% in all strands of content.
