[Testimonial] A Science of Reading Solution: ‘Lexia Checked That Box for Us’

Lexia® LETRS® changed Misty Eidson’s life. As director of elementary curriculum and instruction at Mustang Public Schools in Oklahoma, Eidson is passionate about helping her teachers grow their knowledge while helping students grow as readers. 

Facing the challenge of a growing student population, the district turned to alternative and emergency certified teachers, many of whom don’t have training in teaching students how to read.

Despite her LETRS knowledge, Eidson knew she’d need to find a supplemental program to support all her teachers. 

“We knew we had to have something that met all strands of the reading rope, that encompassed all parts of the science of reading, and Lexia® checked that box for us,” Eidson says.

“Kids are engaged in the learning and our teachers see through the research brought in LETRS and all of the different pieces of what should come in a reading block,” Eidson says. “It is a big ‘aha’ that they can’t do all of that for every student at the level students need. And, so, allowing students to have that time that is individualized each day in Lexia Core5 helps meet those needs that they’re learning are necessary through LETRS. It's just been very successful.”
