[Testimonial] 'The Proof is in the Pudding' for 1 Oklahoma District
When educators at Putnam City Schools in Oklahoma City wanted to change their balanced literacy practices, they turned to Lexia® to align their teaching with the science of reading.
Beginning with Lexia® LETRS®, the district of about 20,000 students in an urban area has now implemented Lexia® Core5® Reading and Lexia® PowerUp Literacy®, and has nearly 300 teachers already trained in LETRS.
Investing in Lexia solutions helped support our teachers,” Amber Elder, Putnam City Schools elementary language arts curriculum specialist, says.
Several Core5 features have been particularly helpful for the LETRS-trained educators at Putnam City Schools, including:
- The Adaptive Blended Learning model
- The teacher-centric approach
- Real time, actionable data
“That's the difference that I see in this program compared to any of the other programs. There's a face-to-face component for teachers,” Elder says. “The proof is in the pudding. We’re teaching kids to read.”
