The fifth unit in LETRS is referred to as The Mighty Word: Oral Language and Vocabulary. This unit agenda contains defining vocabulary and explicit and direct vocabulary instruction.
The name of the sixth unit in LETRS is Digging for Meaning: Understanding Reading Comprehension. This unit agenda delves into the goal of reading comprehension and sentence structure and paragraph structure.
The seventh LETRS unit is called Text-Driven Comprehension Instruction. This penultimate unit agenda goes into theoretical models like the rope model and the mental model. It includes a narrative text lesson plan as well.
The eighth unit is referred to as The Reading Writing Connection. This final LETRS unit agenda is all about why writing is so challenging, and how spelling supports writing. It also covers building sentences and sentence types, and the unit includes a section about motivating students.
