Science of Reading-Based Professional Learning for Grades 4-8 Educators
Lexia Aspire® Professional Learning, grounded in the science of reading, is a flexible, self-paced, digital solution that empowers all educators to accelerate literacy skills among students in grades 4-8.
Acceleration For All
With 85% of public-school curriculum being delivered via reading text, literacy is a cornerstone for success across all core classes. Students must read well to perform well. That’s why, for both students and educators, it’s incredibly beneficial when schools integrate literacy best practices across the curriculum beyond early-elementary grades.
Based on the science of reading, Aspire is a professional learning solution designed to meet the needs of all educators teaching students in grades 4–8, from the content area and classroom educators to interventionists and ELA educators. Aspire trains all educators to weave literacy skills and strategies into their instruction so they can support learners to read, comprehend, and articulate their ideas across various subjects.
Empowered Educators
Aspire equips educators with the knowledge and skills they need to apply evidence-based strategies derived from the science of reading to a classroom of students who have varying levels of literacy competencies. Educators can also choose the content that’s most relevant to improving their students’ literacy outcomes.
Engaged Students
In upper elementary and middle school, the focus becomes reading to learn—rather than learning to read. A teacher who’s knowledgeable and skilled in the application of the science of reading can create an equitable learning environment for all students and foster continued literacy growth.
Improved Outcomes
Provided with insightful, actionable data, leaders can make more informed decisions. Aspire helps leaders visualize the impact the professional learning program has on their districts, schools, and individual educators, which enables them to target support in ways that can ultimately contribute to student success.
