Tennessee State Progress Report School Year 2023–2024
During the 2023–2024 school year, Lexia® provided essential literacy and language learning support to 650 schools and more than 91,000 students across Tennessee. By utilizing Lexia® Core5® Reading, Lexia® PowerUp Literacy®, and Lexia English Language Development™, schools witnessed significant improvements in student outcomes. These programs, rooted in the science of reading, empowered educators to deliver differentiated, adaptive instruction designed to meet the unique needs of every learner.
Core5 helped students in grades pre-K–5 build foundational reading skills, offering personalized, systematic instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. For middle and high school students, PowerUp provided targeted interventions, allowing students struggling with reading to catch up while helping more advanced students stay on track. Teachers used real-time data from PowerUp to make informed instructional decisions, ensuring all students received the support they needed to succeed. Lexia English was vital in helping Emergent Bilingual students increase their language proficiency through engaging, adaptive learning experiences that align with WIDA standards.
By year’s end, the percentage of students working at or above grade level nearly doubled, reflecting the profound impact of Lexia’s programs. With Lexia's continued support, Tennessee schools are well-positioned to improve student literacy and language outcomes statewide.
