Tried and True: Why Schools Turn to Lexia Core5 Reading for Success
A recent third-party study by RAND of 6,600+ students from diverse populations in grades 3–5 shows significant gains from Lexia® Core5® Reading. A main finding: All subgroups of Core5 students experienced reading achievement gains relative to corresponding subgroups among comparison students.
RAND Education and Labor researchers tracked the progress of students across 25 elementary schools in a district located in the southeastern United States, during the 2021-22 academic year. To gauge students’ progress, the schools administered NWEA’s MAP Growth Reading assessment (NWEA’s MAP), which measures reading achievement and growth. The researchers compared Core5 students’ reading growth to similar students in similar schools nationwide that did not use Core5 that year.
Fifty-four percent of students who started two or more grade levels behind gained two or more grade levels in one year. This infographic shows the success of the Core5 Adaptive Blended Learning program in supporting reading success.
