Sarah Cruz is the Supervisor of Secondary English Language Arts for Arlington Public Schools. In this role she oversees the English Language Arts curriculum, instruction, assessments, and professional learning for the middle and high schools of Arlington, Virginia.
She has served as the Elementary Supervisor for Arlington and led the division in adoption and implementation of new high quality instructional materials aligned to the science of reading throughout the elementary schools. Sarah has a passion for leading systemic change in literacy for school divisions to increase both reading and writing proficiency. She has served as a teacher in Tennessee, an instructional coach in Washington and California, a curriculum coordinator in Georgia and curriculum supervisor in Virginia.
She is inspired by the new momentum of structured literacy across the nation and loves partnering with others to ensure all students learn to read.
