Dr. Eddie Ruiz joined Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) in September of 2018 as the Florida State Director leading 61 schools with a student enrollment of approximately 54,000 students. For the first time since 2012, CSUSA Florida schools as a network/district is “A-rated” according to the Florida DOE with 82% of CSUSA Florida schools rated at high performing status (A or B rated) up from 66% in 2018.
Prior to joining Charter Schools USA, Ruiz served as Assistant Superintendent of the Division of Student Services, Equity, and Access for the School District of Palm Beach County. The District is the 10th largest in the country with a student enrollment of approximately 200,000 students. The annual budget exceeds $2.6 billion and the District is the largest employer in Palm Beach County with over 21,000 employees.
Dr. Ruiz holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Phoenix and received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.
Ruiz served 15 years as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal and has worked passionately to ensure that all students receive a quality education that will equip them with the skills needed for post-secondary education and employment in today’s ever-changing world. Influenced to become an educator as a result of being impacted by caring educators who saw talents in him, Dr. Ruiz’s mission is to inspire and motivate the next generation, one student at a time.
