Andy Fekete is an instructional technology specialist from Indian Prairie School District 204. He is in his 10th year in this position. Fekete works from preschool through high school, providing instructional technology support to educators, students, and classrooms throughout the district. Before this position, his background was teaching elementary education. His passion lies in using educational technology to increase student learning outcomes and enhance teacher productivity and efficiency. Additionally, Fekete is always looking to promote opportunities for students to create in our 1:1 Chromebook environment. Finally, he believes in equipping, encouraging, and empowering students and educators with the mindset, technology, skills, and resources necessary, to ensure success is reached at the highest level.
Fekete has a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and communications from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He also earned two master's degrees, one in educational leadership and a second in educational technology with a leadership strand; both master's degrees were earned while attending Concordia University—Chicago. Fekete was recently recognized by CoSN and earned his accreditation as a CETL (Certified Educational Technology Leader). He has also been recognized by a variety of other companies and district partners for his expertise in the field of instructional technology.
Fekete loves to travel, especially exploring new places and restaurants, and is a huge sports fan. He lives in Algonquin, Illinois, with his wife, Kim, and their two children, Dylan and Mackenzie.
