Florida District FAST-Tracks Reading Progress
During the 2022–2023 school year, a large suburban Florida district with over 39,000 students turned to Lexia® Core5® Reading to address literacy challenges using actionable, real-time data.
In this study, 14,229 students across 28 schools used Core5, and 75% (10,721 students) advanced at least one grade level of material in just one year, with even more impressive results for students using the program with fidelity.
More importantly, Core5 led to real world results as program use demonstrated a strong correlation to performance on the FAST Reading Assessment. 70% of students who consistently engaged with Core5 maintained or improved their levels from the beginning-of-year to end-of-year administration of FAST.
In a sample of students in grades 3–5, Core5 accurately predicted students who would pass FAST with a Level 3, 4, or 5, both at the mid-year and end-of-year point.
Core5 is an approved ELA intervention program that aligns with Florida’s rigorous B.E.S.T. English Language Arts Standards as well as WIDA.
With the FAST assessment now administered three times annually, administrators need data-driven tools to monitor student progress effectively. Core5 equips districts with the insights they need to make informed decisions and ensure literacy success for all students.
