Data-Driven Insights Drive Literacy Gains for Washington District
A large suburban school district in Washington, serving more than 21,000 students with 80% minority enrollment and 53.1% economically disadvantaged students, turned to Lexia® Core5® Reading to address literacy challenges. This Evidence for ESSA top-rated program provided an Adaptive Blended Learning approach aligned with the science of reading, ELA Common Core State Standards, and WIDA.
Core5 empowered educators with real-time progress data to monitor student performance and forecast outcomes on assessments like SBA ELA and i-Ready Diagnostic. The program’s On Target Performance Predictor gave district leaders the insights needed to guide instructional decisions and measure student growth throughout the year.
Beyond its predictive capabilities, Core5 played a pivotal role in accelerating literacy progress for students of all abilities. Students began the year working on skills tailored to their specific needs and advanced steadily through grade-level material. By the end of the school year, the majority of students demonstrated significant progress toward reaching their literacy benchmarks.
With embedded assessment technology, Core5 not only ensured students could learn at their own pace but also gave educators actionable data to provide targeted support. By focusing on real-time insights and fostering personalized learning pathways, educators at this Washington district successfully created a road map for long-term literacy success across its diverse student population.
