Core5 and the Science of Reading for Florida

Lexia’s Core5 Reading is an evidence-based program available for pre-K–5 students in Florida. The science of reading is a large body of evidence from nearly five decades of research about how the human brain learns to read. Lexia® Core5® Reading takes the science of reading and applies it to actionable exercises, lessons, and activities for students of all abilities and skill levels.

Core5 supports students of all abilities by taking a Structured Literacy approach to teach students how to read, meaning instruction is explicit, systematic, cumulative, diagnostic, and responsive.
