Making the Most of ESSER Funds with Lexia® English Language Development™
The number of Emergent Bilingual students has been growing in U.S. public schools, and now that we’re beginning to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, this is a critical time to address Emergent Bilingual students’ learning loss. Thankfully, the government has implemented the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER Fund). This fund provides local education agencies (LEAs) with emergency relief for addressing the impact COVID-19 has had—and continues to have—on elementary and secondary students. Because schools have access to these funds, they must make informed decisions about how to spend them.
ESSER funds can be put toward Lexia® English Language Development®, an evidence-based program grounded in research designed to support Emergent Bilingual students in acquiring higher language proficiency levels of English. Our programs have been used for more than 35 years by more than 6.5 million K–12 students and their 600,000 educators nationwide.
