Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® Alignment to Delaware English Language Arts/Literacy Standards

Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® aligns to the levels of complexity and rigor of the Delaware ELA/Literacy Standards. Through personalized, systematic instruction, PowerUp addresses the instructional needs of students by identifying gaps and providing support in three primary areas of instruction: Word Study, Grammar, and Comprehension. It prepares students for the Key Instructional Shifts of the Delaware ELA/Literacy Standards as they develop the necessary foundational skills to access complex text, gain deep knowledge, increase academic vocabulary, and learn the significance of using evidence to support their claims.

The Adaptive Blended Learning program includes these Delaware curriculum requirements to prepare students to be considered “literate:”

• Rigorous content
• Quality text selections and genres
• Demonstrated efficacy
• Repeated exposure and application to complex text
• Flexibility and easy to implement
• Rich academic vocabulary
• A foundation built from research

Built on the science of reading, PowerUp is an Adaptive Blended Learning program that provides differentiated literacy instruction and targets skills gaps for students in grades 6–12. It supports culturally responsive learning environments and supports the needs of diverse learners. Educators also have access to offline resources aligned to Delaware ELA/Literacy Standards to further support their student’s needs.
