Lexia PowerUp Literacy U.S. Infographic
Lexia® PowerUp Literacy® continues to deliver powerful results for adolescent readers across grades 6–12. During the 2024–2025 academic year, students made significant gains in reading proficiency, with 55% covering three or more grade levels of skills in a single year. The number of students working on advanced comprehension skills increased fivefold, and by year's end, fewer than 6% were still working on early elementary skills. Across all content strands, the percentage of students working on advanced skills rose by 41%.
Educators report high satisfaction with the program, with 86% saying PowerUp is easy to use. On average, students completed 71 skills and 82 Skill Checks, working roughly 11 minutes per week in each strand. In total, more than 492,000 Skill Checks and more than 303,000 minutes of instructional time were logged across participating classrooms.
PowerUp is also backed by a strong research base. It is supported by five peer-reviewed published studies, with effect sizes ranging from 0.14 to 0.74. Three of the studies have a Tier 1 (Strong) rating based on ESSA criteria.
By combining evidence-based Structured Literacy with age-appropriate design, PowerUp helps older students build the foundational and comprehension skills they need—delivering accelerated progress with tools that are engaging, interactive, and proven to work.
