About FLC

Family Literacy Centers, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing low cost materials and methods to help children and adults learn to read.

They are helping to create volunteer reading centers in many parts of the country and help parents at home become a source of help for struggling readers.

Their main goals are to 1) focus on internalizing literacy in the family context, 2) emphasize parental involvement and commitment in helping identify children and adults who need help in reading (parents are included here,) 3) encourage those who can read, to read more, 4) utilize the natural volunteers of the home - parents, grandparents, and siblings as well as the community, 5) explain effective and easy-to-use assessment measures, and 6) use community resources as a means to help families establish the home as a true learning center.

They offer many free and inexpensive video and print materials downloadable from their website including the home version of the three award winning Lexia Reading programs - Early Reading, Primary Reading, and Strategies for Older Students.

Home Version

Lexia software has helped over 1 million children and adults learn to read, worldwide. If your child's school does not have Lexia Reading, or if you are an adult learner, our family version will provide the same fun and effective exercises.

School-to-Home Connection

If your child’s school has implemented Lexia Reading with Lexia hosting, your child may have the ability to continue their Lexia school work from home over the internet!

The authorized Lexia family representative is Family Literacy Centers, Inc.

FLC has extensive experience with learning in the home, and can offer additional services to the family in support of their use of Lexia family products.

Our CD-based programs are no longer available.

Lexia's free trial offer is available only to schools.

FLC will be offering the latest web-enabled version of our programs to families for home use.
